Untimely Demise | Tony Johnston Dies in Antenna Accident

Having celebrated his 70th. birthday only a month ago, it is with great sadness we have to announce that Tony Johnston, a renowned authority on antennas for amateur, military and commercial applications Call sign GW40GP died on Thursday May 29th following a fall whilst erecting one of his latest designs. Tony was a larger than life character who very quickly became the centre of any party that he joined. His network of friends was almost legendary and although life had become a bit of a struggle of late, was always optimistic and forward looking in attitude.
His latest venture had all the hallmarks of success and a number of his friends had banded together to enable his new venture to take off. He will be very sadly missed and leaves a huge void that he had filled with ease when he was still with us. Having run his company from Portsmouth from way back in 1976, Capco was very well known throughout the world for its quality of product and effectiveness of its designs in radio reception and transmission and Tony was regarded as one of the leading authorities in this area of specialism by both amateurs and military authorities.
This is GW40GP signing off.
